Charles “Chuck” Kelley Scholarship

Dance Educators of America Inc. is proud to award the “Charles “Chuck” Kelley Scholarship” ® in the amount of $10,000.00. Beginning in July of 2018 and continuing annually thereafter, the “Charles “Chuck” Kelley Scholarship” ® will be awarded at the Dance Educators of America Inc. National Convention and Competition. This scholarship will be paid directly to the university, college or conservatory where the recipient is registered to attend and pursuing a degree in a performance based major, dance or musical theatre. The recipient can be reimbursed by Dance Educators of America Inc. for approved study related expenses, provided proper documentation is submitted to Dance Educators of America, Inc. in a timely fashion.

The Scholarship will be paid over 4 semesters in $2,500 increments and must be used within four (4) years after receiving the scholarships.
Students auditioning for the scholarship will be adjudicated in Ballet, Contemporary and Jazz classes, all of which will be considered as part of the final determination. The Adjudication panel for the audition classes will consist of representatives from the universities, colleges and Dance Educators of America Inc. National Convention and Competition from their institutions.


Dean College Scholarships

Dean College will be offering five (5) scholarships for dancers to train in Franklin, MA at the Palladino School of Dance at Dean College. They will offer (2) $20,000.00, (1) $18,500.00, (1) $17,000.00, (1) $15,000.00. The college offers classes in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, modern, hip hop, contemporary, theater, improvisation, ballroom and Pilates. Unique two- and four-year programs allow students to train, perform, choreograph, teach, intern and learn the ins and outs of the dance industry by our world-renowned faculty. Troy University Scholarships

Troy’s BFA in Dance, offers a three-prong curriculum. The program encourages dancers to develop performance strengths in all areas of dance and prepares them for the future of their choice. Troy University’s Department of Theatre and Dance Expanded Trojan Opportunities Scholarship give performing arts student recipients the opportunity to attend Troy University as an in-state student, eliminating out of state tuition. The dollar amount is equal to the existing out-of-state portion tuition. The scholarship totals $39,000 for four (4) years.

Troy University will be offering five (5) Dance Scholarships and five (5) Musical Theatre Scholarships. Students auditioning for the Dance Scholarships will be adjudicated in all of the audition classes by a representative from the Troy University’s Department of Theatre and Dance ETO and will be monitored throughout the Dance Educators of America, Inc. National Convention and Competition in workshop classes and competitions to determine the recipients. The Musical Theatre Scholarships will be awarded based on Dance Educators of America, Inc. Musical Theatre Camp classes and Showcase performance. A representative from Troy University’s Department of Theatre and Dance ETO will monitor and award these scholarships.

Pace University

The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Commercial Dance in the Pace School of Performing Arts is the only one of its kind in New York City offering comprehensive dance training that bridges the gap between classical dance technique and the professional world of commercial dance. The Commercial Dance major blends the highest quality of dance and theater training preparing students for diverse careers on stage, television, film, and the entertainment industry. Commercial Dance students train with leading professionals in ballet, jazz, modern, theater dance, tap, contemporary, hip hop, and aerial work as well as in acting, singing, and technical theater.

Pace University will offer scholarships to their Fall Intensive at the Dyson College of Arts and Sciences New York City, NY.

They may also offer artistic acceptance to the Commercial Dance Program upon academic acceptance into the university. Scholarship monies are determined by the university after academic acceptance to the university.


Point Park University

Nationally recognized as one of the top 10 dance training programs in the country, Point Park University’s Conservatory of Performing Art’s dance program offers a B.A. and B.F.A. in dance. Students take classes in all technique areas (ballet, jazz, and modern), regardless of their area of concentrations, as well as a wide spectrum of classes including character, tap, pointe, pas de deux, male technique, contemporary partnering, composition, history of dance, African, hip- hop, ballroom, improvisation, choreography, and dance entrepreneurship designed to create the total artist.

Graduates have gone on to dance with various prestigious companies as Ailey II, the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Alonzo King LINES, Alabama, Cincinnati, Nashville, and Milwaukee Ballets, Ballet Hispanico, Ballet Met, Ballet X, Bad Boys of Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, Philadanco, Ballet Austin, Giordano Dance Chicago, Parsons Dance Company, Visceral Dance Company, Houston Met, Koresh Dance Company, Cirque du Soleil, Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal, and numerous cruise line companies. Alumni also have made their mark on Broadway and in touring in Cats, Carousel, Cinderella, Contact, Hamilton, Footloose, The Lion King, Ragtime, Rent and 42nd Street.

Point Park University is an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Dance.
