Dance Educators of America has an ongoing commitment to principles of proper dance training for all students. The Dance Educators of America Ballet Medallion Program is an example of this commitment. This program is a diverse curriculum that encompasses all aspects of proper ballet training. Yearly examinations are administered to acknowledge the proficiency of the student at six levels of training.

As educators, it is important to support the technical development of our students. DEA’s medallion testing program enables DEA Certified Teachers and DEA Certified Members in good standing a useful tool to use within the dance studio to promote proper ballet training. Whether your students are recreational dancers, competitive dancers or pursuing a professional career, the program is an educational model to set the standard of proper training for each level.

All levels have age-appropriate guidelines and dance materials.  Silver Bar offers fundamental awareness and provides an excellent foundation in which to build a ballet education.  After moving through each level, a Gold Medal dancer will have mastered the applied application and theory of proper technique.

It is the intent of Dance Educators of America to provide the teacher with the best possible tools in which to train the ballet dancer as well as give the students a sense of pride in their accomplishments, of mastering each level. Ballet is a broad discipline, and the training is very specific.  This program was designed by ballet masters who will remain involved and invested in the success of your students. Member teachers receive personalized and constructive feedback on their methodology and the participating students receive feedback on their technique and artistrty.
