The Dance Educators of America, Inc. Summer Musical Theatre Intensive will be held in Orlando, FL. We give every student the experience of being a part of a “Show” and the “Audition Process”. What sets us apart from other performing arts summer programs is the education and personalized training that we work to provide each student. Students will be working with a team of professionals that will expose them to the world of Musical Theatre.
Students will have the opportunity to be mentored by industry leaders. The students will be cast in our Showcase Cabaret.
CLASSES! VOICE! DANCE!
Classes will include:
● Audition techniques
● Learn the proper way to use your voice
● Improvisation
● Material selection for auditions
● Theatre games
● How to prepare your music book
● Monologues
● Dance: musical theatre, ballet, tap, lyrical, contemporary and jazz
● Audition preparation
● Resume writing
● Headshot selection
● Bio writing
The students will have the opportunity to speak with some of the leading professionals in the industry. Teaching them what they need to know to be able to make your dreams a reality!
REQUIREMENTS
Students must upload a headshot and resume.
Resume should list your pertinent information and things that you have done. You should list all special skills.● Need to bring 32 bars of your audition music. If you don’t have a song, “Happy Birthday” will do.
● A completed and notarized Dance Educators of America, Inc. Musical Theatre Intensive Medical Release Authorization form
Come prepared to audition, dressed in dancewear and bring your dance shoes (tap, jazz, ballet and hip hop). If you dance in heels, bring them. Make sure that you have black pants and black skirt with you.

Dance Educators of America, Inc. Musical Theatre Camp Scholarship
Students of Dance Educators of America, Inc. members are eligible for tuition scholarships to the Musical Theatre Camp. Dance Educators of America, Inc. is offering a 10% scholarship to students that would like to attend the camp. The member teacher must register for the Musical Theatre Intensive, using the Dance Educators of America online registration system and pay a $250.00 non-refundable deposit by May 1, 2024. Once this has been completed, notify the Dance Educator's office by email at Info@DanceDEA.com and we will apply a 10% Intensive scholarship to their registration. This scholarship is only available to students that have not already received a scholarship to the 2024 Musical Theatre Intensive.
There are a limited number of attendees that can be accepted to the 2024 Musical Theatre Camp. The attendees will be taken by registration deposit date. Once a student is registered for the Camp, they have two weeks to pay the $250.00 non-refundable deposit or the scholarship will be withdrawn. Students may only use one (1) scholarship.
Students and the Member teacher must be registered at the host hotel under the official DEA room block (no third party or hotel sites accepted) for the dates of the entire event for the Dance Educators of America, Inc. Musical Theatre Intensive, if using a scholarship for the Musical Theatre Intensive.
